The Salem-Keizer Volcanoes

We watched our second baseball game of the season. We haven’t visited many places with baseball teams this year. But we are now in the territory of the Northwest League, a short season Class A league. The Salem- Keizer Volcanoes are an affiliate of the San Francisco Giants. Salem is the larger city, but the stadium is in the adjoining town of Keizer. Attendance was a bit sparse the night we went – probably just under a thousand people and the home team Volcanoes lost by a score of 7 to 5. Most of these guys are later round draftees who have very limited prospects of ever making “the show” but they still are living the dream that they will play in majors one day.

Hi, we are Leeanne and Gary and along with our beloved kitty Alley we are The BooneDocks.

We are both former Ford people. We lived in the burbs of Detroit.

In 2011 after we both had retired, we sold off everything we owned except for what would fit in a motor home and hit the road living full time in our rig and seeing the country. We lived on the road for nearly 4 years. We then opted to sell the motor home and buy a home base in an RV park in Florida. We were RV-less for about year but now have purchased another rig so we can resume our travels but on a part-time basis.

First and foremost, we maintain this blog as a diary of our amazing travels in our retirement. But feel free to follow along with us.
