A Special Zion Adventure

100_8942When we visited Zion NP six years ago, there was something that we said if we ever got back here again we would do.  No, it was not to hike the slot canyon of The Narrows as our full time friends Sue and Paul did. http://soos-ontheroad.blogspot.com/2012/05/grandfather-of-all-slot-canyons.html  But it was an adventure we enjoyed just the same.  As we noted in our last blog about Zion, you can only travel Zion Canyon by shuttle bus.  However those shuttle buses have bike racks on the front of them and you can ride, or mainly coast back down the canyon road.

It was a beautiful day, deep blue sky without a cloud.  It was a wonderful ride down through the canyon with amazing vistas of the rugged canyon walls.

  1. thanks for the shout out :) I sure do love Zion NP. The Narrows was a great adventure. Not sure I'd repeat it without building up some muscles first!

  2. Now that sounds like my kind of bike ride where gravity does the work for me. I've been in awe of the bikers we've seen out here doing such roads as the million dollar hwy - I cannot imagine being able to do that.

  3. Looks like you’re having better weather and a great time. When Utah had floods back in the early ’80’s, then-govenor Scott Matheson said “it’s a hell of a way to run a desert.” Looks like the same thing may have applied this fall.
